Water check
Check your water against your espresso machine
Match your water to the limits your machine's maker publishes, one measurement at a time. Machine care only. It doesn't assess drinking-water quality or safety.
How the check works
- We compare each measurement with the maker's own published limit for that machine, one at a time. There's no overall score, so one good number can't hide a bad one.
- A limit counts only when the maker wrote it for this machine or its range, with a number and a unit we can read without guessing. Other guidance is shown, labeled, but doesn't decide.
- City numbers come from the utility's yearly water quality report. A zip code can have more than one utility or private wells, reports are yearly averages, and old pipes change the water, so a water test strip is the best check of your own tap.
- When a maker's figures are unclear or disagree, that's ours to sort out. The check says the requirement is being verified and leaves it out until it's resolved.
- What you enter stays in this browser. We don't receive it, store it or put it in a page address. Privacy.
- Mineral & Steam does not certify water as safe, guarantee protection from scale, corrosion or equipment damage, or recommend a machine as an overall purchase. It compares the water information you provide with documented manufacturer water requirements and shows the basis and limits of that comparison.
