How we work

Mineral & Steam helps home espresso owners in the US match their water to their machine. GrantWorks 360 Consulting, LLC runs the site. We don't sell anything.

Where our facts come from

Every spec and water limit comes from the machine's maker or its authorized distributor, saved word for word with its link and date. When a maker doesn't publish a number, we say "Not listed". We don't test machines by hand, and we don't take numbers from store listings.

The water check

The water check compares your water with each limit the maker publishes, one measurement at a time, and says whether it falls within or outside the machine's stated requirements. It names the utility report it used. It covers machine care only: we don't assess drinking-water quality or safety. For that, please refer to your water supplier's annual water quality report.

Products and stores

Products are listed A to Z or by a spec you choose. Each one links to at most three stores, picked for being an authorized seller, reliable stock and support first. Whether a store pays us only breaks a tie. No store can pay to be included or placed higher.
