Carbonate hardness: 2–6 °dH
“Only operate the machine with fresh drinking water. Water with a carbonate hardness of 2–6°dH KH* is ideal. If the water hardness is outside this range, it is recommended to use the water filter that comes with the machine in order to minimize limescale deposits in the machine and to improve the taste of the coffee.”
Softened water
“It is not recommended to use water from ion exchange water softeners (sodium-based) as this may affect the taste.”

“Very hard water can lead to limescale deposits and a bitter taste even when a filter is used.”

“Very low carbonate hardness can lead to an acidic taste.”

“Descaling serves purely preventative purposes and should not be carried out if limescale has already built up. If this is the case, please contact your dealer.”
