The maker's water guidance

What the maker says this machine needs from its water. This is machine care, not drinking-water advice.

From Profitec's guidance for this model.

  • Hardness, highest: up to 4 °dH

“You should use water with a hardness of max. 4° dH in order to protect your machine from lime scale damage. When necessary, make use of a water softener in order to reach an adequate hardness level.”

  • Water filter

“Please note that no water filter may be attached to the water tank adapter in machines with a rotary pump. Only water filter pads, which are placed directly into the water tank, may be used.”

  • Plumbed-in water

“To avoid calcification of the machine a water-softener is recommended.”

  • Descaling

“A calcified machine may only be descaled by your specialised dealer because a partial disassembly of the boiler and the tubing may be necessary to prevent the system from being blocked by lime residues.”
